Thought of the day !
What's the point of shaving your head if you keep it filled
with a multitude of desires that claim to be satisfied ? This type of
"waiver" is a impostor for the person who undertakes it in society.
Have you noticed that no Avatar has ever given sannyasa
(renunciation) to any aspiring devotee? These external signs are not essential
or necessary. Rather, the detachment born of wisdom and sustained by God's
Grace is of paramount importance to spiritual advancement.
There are gurus that pride themselves at the number of
surrenders they launched in society, as if that was a worthy achievement of
congratulations! If you impose renunciation on a head that has not achieved
detachment, it is a burden to those who have to support it and a dishonour to
those who gave it.
The guru and the disciple are prisoners of their incompetence;
if both are prisoners of desires, which one can free the other? Only those who
put them in prison can grant a suspension of sentence or forgiveness.
