What is the special gift of being born human?
Bhagavan lovingly reminds us so we may focus on that and utilize this opportunity.

Man suffers because he has developed hunger as vast as the sky, with a throat as narrow as a needle. His throat must become as vast as the earth; his heart must blossom wide through shanti and sahana; that is, through equanimity, and fortitude. Then the desire of man for full lasting undiluted ananda (bliss) can be attained.

Once a being has evolved into man, there is no relapse for him into lower forms of life; for man alone is capable of viveka and vichakshana (discrimination and wisdom); when he suffers, he worries why suffering has become his lot; he concludes that the cause must be sought, not in the vagaries of God or the whims of others, but in himself; if not in the present life, then in previous lives. Man alone can analyze his mental reactions and feelings and draw conclusions therefrom.

What does every sunset and sunrise remind us of ?

What does every passing minute tell us ?

Bhagwan lovingly reminds us today.

In the beginning-less and endless stream of time, night and day, summer and winter, roll on endlessly. The term of living beings diminishes every day. While being carried forward in this flood, man is surprisingly unaware of his fate; he never spends a thought on his fast-declining life-term; he is blind in his ignorance. 

Riches and wealth are short-lived; office and authority are temporary; and the life breath is a flickering flame in the wind. Youth is a three-day fair. Pleasures and fortunes are bundles of sorrow. Knowing this, if man devotes this limited term of life to the service of the Lord, then, he is indeed blessed. Seek refuge at the feet of the Lord even before the life-breath flies out of the cage of the body. 

It is an open cage!

Any moment, the bird may fly into the outer regions.

That is the fact.

How can we remove qualities such as jealousy and hatred from our hearts? 

Bhagawan explains by holding Himself as an ideal for all of us.

Society today is racked by jealousy and hatred. Jealousy is a disease which gives rise to hatred. Develop forbearance and goodwill. That is the cure for jealousy. I have often declared: "My life is My message." Often, many have extolled Me or derided Me. I do not get elated by praise or depressed by criticism. I treat everything alike. Samatwam yogam uchyate - Equal-mindedness is yoga. 

What do I lose when someone criticizes Me? 

That is his opinion. It does not affect Me. Those who criticize Baba are suffering from a disease, like those who reject a sweet because they suffer from diabetes. The fault lies not in the sweet but in the person who is unable to relish it. They know that Baba is engaged in beneficial activities, and they want Him. But because some of their selfish interests are not served, they turn against Swami. That is a malady. When you see the facts in this light, you will realize the truth. Today, you have to cultivate a serene equanimity that rises above these trifles.

Unlike empirical sciences governed by rigid methodologies and concrete proofs, the realm of spirituality is shaped by personal conviction and cultural context. Consequently, there exists no definitive theory to decisively validate or invalidate religious practices. Each form of worship is a manifestation of the individual's relationship with the divine, making the conversation surrounding belief profoundly nuanced and layered.

Engaging in debates about belief systems, while potentially enriching, often reveals the limitations of rational discourse in addressing irrational complexities of faith. The expectation that such discussions will yield categorical answers, akin to a mathematical equivalent, is misaligned with the nature of spirituality itself. 

Faith thrives in ambiguity, flourishing in the space between certainties and uncertainties. As individuals explore their beliefs, navigating a landscape where personal experiences and existential inquiries reign supreme, resulting in a rich construction of thought rather than a singular narrative. This divergence invites an appreciation for diversity in belief, recognizing the pursuit of understanding transcends the constraints of conventional logic.

What must we offer in the sacred fire of the Yajna?
Bhagawan explains clearly, so that we may make the best of the opportunity to participate in the Ati Rudra Maha Yajna!

Sometimes some persons tend to indulge in petty thefts. This is derived from previous lives spent as a cat. Similarly, the vacillating and fickle nature displayed by a person may be attributed to a previous life as a monkey. Fickle mindedness is characteristic of the monkey. Some persons are incurably ungrateful. They indulge even in harming those who help them. This is not a human trait. 

How, then, is it present in a man? 

It is because he must have been a serpent in a previous birth. The serpent is notorious for emitting poison even when fed on milk. So, an ungrateful person must have been a serpent in some previous life. One should offer therefore, at the altar of his mind, as a sacrifice his stubbornness, thieving propensity, ingratitude and pride. 

This is the Inner Yajna. Unfortunately, instead of performing sacrifices of this kind people treat goats and fowl as offerings. As a result, the bad qualities continue to grow in man. It is to eliminate this evil sense of ingratitude that external sacrifices like Yajnas and Yagas have been recommended to man. Yajnas enable us to promote and refine the beneficent qualities in man.

In one room, a group of devotees engaged in Satsang, when one observer experienced an extraordinary moment. Bhagwan's hand protruded from the confines of the photograph. Awe-struck, the devotee approached the image, receiving this unexpected manifestation in his palm

This incident transcends conventional scientific explanation, offering a glimpse into a reality where the extraordinary coexists with the mundane. A powerful reminder that belief can unveil realms of wonder that challenge the boundaries of rational thought.

Sathya Sai Baba miracles after Samadhi serves as a testament to the omnipresence.

On July 15, 2025, during Krishna Janmashtami, a devotee placed a glass of water upon the altar as an offering. To his astonishment, he later discovered a gold coin within the glass, which upon inspection, was issued in 2005 by the Sai Organisation in honour of the 80th millennium birthday celebrations of Sai.

What are the lapses the senses are given to and why is it important to avoid these?
Bhagawan clearly explains and alerts us today.

The eye ever seeks the vile and the vulgar. Notwithstanding the danger to his own life and body, the motorist will stare at obscene posters advertising a movie film. The eye must be held in check so that it may not ruin the mind as well as the body of man. The ear craves for scandal and salacious stuff. It does not persuade you to attend discourses that can really help in your spiritual development. 

Even if you chance to attend any, the ear dissuades you by giving you a headache. But when someone pours abuse on another, the two ears attain maximum concentration. The tongue is doubly dangerous unless held in check, for it speaks scandal and creates a craving for taste. It is well-nigh impossible to lead the tongue towards the path of japa and dhyana (spiritual recitations and meditation), however sweet be the Name of the Lord. 

When the eye, ear and tongue are under control and capable of being used for self-improvement, the mind and the hand can also easily be held in check. Thus, when man realizes himself, there is no need to inquire where God dwells. He dwells in the pure heart of man, clearly shining in His innate splendour of Wisdom, Power and Love.

"That is My Wish" is an Unpublished,
Original, Handwritten letter by Swami which was released on Bhagawan's 86th Birthday by His Students.

In this letter, Bhagawan expresses His wish as to How he wants His Devotees to conduct themselves. It is a letter for each and every one of us to read, think and ponder and to put into Practise what Bhagawan wants all of us to do.

Attached is the Original Letter and the English Translation is given below :
Sai Devotees and Members attending the meeting,

Accept My Blessings.

On this 17th anniversary occasion, I am witnessing the happiness being felt by the Sai Devotees, though not present physically with you. Direct physical experience and indirect experience are the same. Attributes could be many, but they are imaginary. Paddy and rice are different for name's sake, but the difference is only in the husk. If you remove the husk, it is rice only. As long as the rice is covered with husk, it has to germinate. When there is moisture paddy has to germinate and sprout into a plant. If you remove the husk, it can only be used as food and so loses the potential for rebirth.

Worship of the All-Pervasive Sai Rama is to experience the physical body outside and the astral body inside. Bodily illusion belongs to man (Nara) and atmic illusion belongs to God (Narayana). So if you continue to be enveloped by bodily illusions and earthly attachments of this world, when do you experience atmic illusion and see the cosmic form of God? Search for truth should become a daily ritual for Sai Devotees. 

Love is the quality that endears you to Parthivasa. Inferior qualities should be discarded as superior human qualities confer divinity. So, first devotees should develop a clean and clear conscience and shed external pomp and show. You should remain unattached to everything, because this is the truth. Devote all your time and actions to God. Realize time as the vehicle of Sai and do not count the amount of time you spent in prayers as the quality of devotion is more important.

Instead of expressing your devotion towards Sai in words and songs, express them through your deeds. That is the truth. If you say something and do something else or sing one thing while meaning something else, this show becomes a no-show and harms Sai's fame. So, Sai Devotees should exercise restraint in their behaviour. Your heart should melt like butter, looks should shower cool moonlight and the words should be sweet like honey – that pleases Sai.

Selfless devoted love and passion-free balanced love are the two eyes of Sai. Sai likes practice and not publicity. Sai can be captured with love but not treasures. Only when Sai devotees treat these principles of truth as a command will the whole world become Saimayam (permeated by Sai) and Brahmamayam (permeated by Brahman). When our vision is turned towards divine knowledge, the world becomes an abode of God (Brahma). If you want to see the world in a particular colour, you have to wear glasses of that colour first. So, all of you start experiencing Sai in your own way and reform yourselves with acceptable behaviour.

What actions performed by us have the ability to sanctify this human birth and allow us to find fulfilment?

You may not get a chance to partake in some gigantic scheme of service through which millions may be benefitted; you can lift a lame lamb over a stile or lead a blind child across a busy road. That too is an act of worship! 

A copy of Gita may be available for twenty-five paise; a puerile novel may cost ten rupees. Which is more worthwhile?

Which can transmute base metal into gold?

Seva is more fruitful than japa, dhyana, yajna and yaga, which are usually recommended for spiritual aspirants. For, it serves two purposes: the extinction of the ego, and the attainment of ananda (bliss). When someone sitting near you is sunk in sorrow; can you be happy? 

No. 

It may be that a baby weeps within hearing, most pathetically. You will get tears in your eyes in sympathy.

Why? 

There is an unseen bond between the two. Man alone has this quality of empathy; he alone can be happy when others are happy, and miserable when others are miserable. That is why he is the paragon of creation, the acme of animal advance. Man alone is capable of seva; that is his special glory, unique skill!

His passion for teaching is embroidered in Education - a system moulded in star studded diamonds.

The exquisite foundation of Prashanti guides devotees to sojourn with clarity in the absence of the form. This depicts who the Guru was in our world of mystery and timeless threads.

Prashanti serves as a haven for introspection and divine intoxication. Sai elegance the spiritual prosperity of the continent.

Veda chanting becomes mainstream, and humanity yields inspiration from this blueprint. Sai dharma begins to ventilate the Science of the Soul.

The world is watching the Sai Organization with myriad's of eyes, as devotee's seedling the Avatars teachings. It may not flower roses immediately, decades from today, the world will fragrance Ahimsa.

The most engaging and compelling book of Bhagwan is Love. The ultimate expression of divinity. I often wonder what may lie beyond all this. It's not every day you stumble across a cool Soul that's so Sai-entific !

Vintage India is awakened by Sathya, animated by devotees world-wide.

The miracles of Bhagwan mark the pinnacle of His presence for me; although He did not elevate this discipline.

Conventional sciences fail to explain the Supernatural that emblem SAI - neither have they succeeded in shedding light of his wonder's, in the absence of his physical Form.

The phenomena that need serious attention, as it transcends the laws of space and time and falls outside the realm of E=mc² and Quantum Physics. The unique intersection between the Divine, Science and Human experience, inviting ongoing contemplation and reverence for His legacy.

The banyan tree was planted by the Divine Hands of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on 29 June 1959. On that day, He also placed under the tree a 'Yantra', a thick copper plate measuring 15" x 10" containing mystical markings that the scriptures consider to be of great spiritual power, stimulating spiritual impulses and aiding concentration.

The 'Yantra' materialized by Him on the sands of river Chitravathi on the day of Vaishak Purnima in 1959, when a devotee asked him about the tree in Boddh Gaya, on which Lord Buddha was sitting, under illumination. Bhagawan said that a similar Yantra was placed under the Boddh Gaya tree also.

Bhagawan said about this Tree _ "Yogis wherever they are, once they reach a certain stage of Sadhana, they will know this tree and this Yantra and will be drawn by a Mysterious Force towards it ...... "!

That is why one of the 108 names by which Bhagawan is exalted is:

"Om Sri Sai Saadhakaanugraha Vata Vruksha Prathishttaapakaaya Namaha:"
